Madison developer to break ground on housing project for youth transitioning out of foster care

MADISON, Wis. — A Madison developer will break ground Thursday on a housing project devoted to young people who are transitioning out of foster care or experiencing homelessness.

The Park Lofts will be built at 1150 South Park Street on Madison’s south side by Eminent Development Corporation. Julian Walter, the developer’s president and a Madison native, said the new building will have 100% affordable units, on-site services like counseling and job training, and community spaces. Local organizations are also expected to partner with the developer to provide support for residents.
