The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting more city funding to pay overtime to officers deployed to anti-ICE protests, according to a city report released Monday.
The demonstrations and actions against ICE raids began June 6 in response to President Trump’s immigration enforcement operations in Southern California. Federal agents and local law enforcement officers dressed in full tactical gear have fired tear gas and rubber ammunition at protestors.
