Iowa City announces road closures for Pride festival and parade

IOWA CITY, Iowa (Iowa’s News Now) — The City of Iowa City has announced a series of road closures and parking restrictions in preparation for the Iowa City Pride festival and parade scheduled for Saturday, June 21.

Road closures will start at 6 a.m. on Saturday to facilitate the setup of festival vendors. The affected roads include Washington Street from Gilbert Street to Clinton Street (westbound), Linn Street from Iowa Avenue to the alley north of the Iowa City Public Library (southbound), and the alley north of the library (both westbound and eastbound).

Parking restrictions will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 20, on Linn Street from Washington Street to College Street. Additional parking restrictions will take effect at 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, on College Street from Van Buren Street to Dodge Street, Johnson Street from Washington Street to College Street (westbound), and Washington Street from Van Buren Street to Dodge Street for parade staging…
