The Savannah Tribune Hosts NNPA Conference 2025

Nearly 300 African American Newspaper Publishers from across the country will converge on the City of Savannah as The Savannah Tribune hosts the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) Annual Conference. The conference will be held June 25-28, 2025 at the J. W. Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District. The conference will celebrate 198 Years of the Black Press and the 150th Anniversary of The Savannah Tribune. The conference theme is “Engaging Black America: Empowerment, Justice and Prosperity.”

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, June 25- 27, 2025, this conference will offer inspiring workshops including a Gen Z Panel Discussion focusing on Innovation, Social Media and AI; Impacts of Project 2025; Harmful Policies That Impact the Black Press; Black Health: Mental and Physical; and Financial Freedom and Community Economic Development. There will also be a presentation of PGA scholarships awarded to 2 deserving Savannah State University students majoring in Journalism. The NNPA Fund will present its 2025 Messenger Awards which recognize excellence in journalism and storytelling that uplifts, informs and empowers communities.
