First Alert Weather Day Tuesday: Scorching heat expected

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – After a hot afternoon in the 90s, an increase in southerly winds is expected later Monday afternoon. These stronger southerly winds are expected to persist into Tuesday.

Triple-digit temperatures are expected on Tuesday throughout the area. The First Alert Weather Team has designated Tuesday as a First Alert Weather day due to advisory-level heat (105 degrees or greater) possible across portions of the South Plains Tuesday afternoon. Highs will still be short of the record, which is 112° set in 2017.
