Louisville Zoo announces arrival of 2 animals

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — Two new animals have arrived at the Louisville Zoo. On Wednesday, the zoo announced that a 2-year-old Masai giraffe named Josie and a 7-year-old maned wolf named Jessie had a new home.

Louisville Zoo said Josie comes from the Greenville Zoo in South Carolina, while Jessie is from the Phoenix Zoo in Arizona.

About Louisville’s new Masai giraffe

Zookeepers have reportedly fallen in love with Josie’s sweet personality, saying she has a fondness for mulberry browse, WASA crackers, and romaine lettuce.

Guests can find Josie among the Zoo’s giraffe herd. She is a stockier built with lighter blonde coloring than her female herd-mate Kianga and freckles at the base of her ossicones (the bony, horn-like structure on giraffe heads)…
