The proposed Surfliner Inn project again received less-than-favorable feedback from community members at a project review stepping stone on Monday night.
The two-story 36-room boutique hotel is proposed for a city-owned parking lot, Parking Lot #3, at 499 Linden Ave. The Carpinteria City Council first put out requests for development proposals for the lot in 2017, hoping to build a project that would boost the economy, and local developers, the now-named 499 Linden Managers LLC, responded.
