CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The National Alliance on Mental Illness is holding a class called “Hearts and Minds” in Corpus Christi this Saturday aimed to educate attendees about the links between mental and physical health. Heather Loeb, Affiliate Leader and Communications Manager for NAMI-Corpus Christi says the class is being offered to combat the results of two recent studies done on the residents of the Coastal Bend.
“There were some stats that made this class a really good one to be in Nueces County,” Loeb said. “In 2022 there was a study that said 19% of residents had depression and in 2024 there was a stat that said 42% of adults in Nueces County were obese.”
