Boil water notice issued for Utica after power outage

UTICA, Miss. (WJTV) – A power outage led to a boil water notice for the Town of Utica.

Officials with the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) said the notice was issued on June 17 for 387 connections on the drinking water system. Customers will be notified by the system when the notice is lifted.

Health officials strongly recommend that all water be boiled vigorously for one minute before it is consumed. The water system will be notified when tests show that the water is safe to drink.
