Man hit, killed on Pa. highway while pushing car that was out of gas

The pedestrian killed Monday evening while trying to push a car that had run out of gas on Interstate 78 in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, has been identified as a 33-year-old New Jersey man.

Tyler R. Kolaja of Hamburg, Sussex County, died from multiple blunt force injuries, Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek said.

Pennsylvania State Police in Belfast said Kolaja was pushing a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox at 10:15 p.m. in the eastbound lanes at mile marker 74.3 in Glendon, near Williams Township. A woman, also from New Jersey, was attempting to steer the car, state police said…
