Homeowners grapple with damage from overnight storm in Spartanburg Co.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Parts of small trees stretched across roads, and a massive tree sat on top of a shed on Pogue Street in Spartanburg County Wednesday, near the entrance to The Oak Forest subdivision. The damage was spotted after heavy rain and strong winds moved through the area Tuesday evening.

“We were home, we were sitting on the porch and we didn’t know. It just all of a sudden hit and it was crazy,” Endia Dawkins told 7NEWS. “It was really bad. We actually heard when it sparked over here. We saw, like a fire, an explosion. And then, in the back there were trees that fell behind my house.”

Dawkins said she’s lived in The Oak Forest subdivision for five years and had never seen damage like it before…
