WATCH: MLK parade and Juneteenth celebration in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. March/Parade and Juneteenth Celebration began at 10 a.m. Thursday in Knoxville.

The parade began at Chilhowee Park and ended at Dr. Walter Hardy Park. The Juneteenth celebration is also at Dr. Walter Hardy Park. There will be live entertainment, a DJ, musical performances, vendors and more. 6 News livestreamed the parade from this page.

Knoxville City Council to consider providing counseling to victims of gun violence

The event celebrates “freedom, heritage, and community,” according to the MLK Commemorative Commission. Over 1,000 people attended last year’s event.

This year, the event is welcoming Elite Striders Drill Team, a nationally recognized youth performance group from Illinois.
