First Alert Forecast: toasty temperatures continue

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – After Wilmington officially hit the 90s Tuesday and Wednesday- some of the highest metrics so far in 2025! – continue to stay cool and hydrated the best you can Thursday. Your First Alert Forecast stocks very toasty high temperatures in the lower and middle 90s, stressful heat index values in the lower and middle 100s, steamy southwest breezes and a 20 to 30% chance for a drenching shower or storm.

Overnight, a more organized rain and storm line remains possible – something to keep in mind ahead of a marginally cooler but still summery weekend. Fitting, as the new season officially arrives with the solstice at 10:41 p.m. Friday!
