AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — Just as the temperature is expected to soar, the Aurora Reservoir Swim Area is closed as of Wednesday afternoon due to elevated bacteria levels. The city says it will reopen when tests show the levels have come down.
However, the kayaking, paddleboarding and boating section of the reservoir remains open.

Some beachgoers are disappointed.
“My hopes were that I was going to be able to come down here with my friends, maybe get some swim time in on the beach, maybe tan a little bit, but I saw the signs and I was pretty disappointed with what I saw,” said Alex Perez…
