Kalamazoo’s housing pods up for auction months after housing project is scrapped

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — 50 housing pods that were purchased as part of a temporary housing project in Kalamazoo are now up for auction, according to Housing Resources Inc. (HRI).

The pods were bought by HRI in 2021 for $1 million to provide temporary housing to people in Kalamazoo, the non-profit said. The money wasn’t taxpayer dollars.
