Indiantown reaffirms Parks & Rec member

INDIANTOWN — The Village Council and attorney moved swiftly June 12 to defend a Parks & Recreation Advisory Board volunteer accused of a conflict of interest after receiving a facility-use agreement to operate a youth soccer academy at Indian Mound Park.

At the center of the controversy is Christopher Corey, founder of the Walton & Hersham Football Academy and appointee to the advisory board. The Council ultimately reaffirmed his lease agreement and voted to file a formal waiver with the State of Florida, clearing up any perceived ethical concerns.
