E. coli levels improving in Toledo creeks, but not enough to lift public health advisory yet

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The level of E. coli found in Delaware Creek and Swan Creek in Toledo is still elevated, the latest water test results show, but conditions are improving.

An update from a city spokesperson on Wednesday said further water testing conducted on Monday indicates the public health advisory should remain in effect for now.

The testing determined Delaware Creek has about 9 times the safe limit of E. coli in the water, a significant improvement from the water quality testing conducted nearly two weeks ago. It previously contained more than 2,000 times the safe limit of E. coli, city officials said…
