Las Vegas (KSNV) — Celebrate Juneteenth on Thursday, June 19, with local events happening across Las Vegas and Henderson.

The City of Henderson, along with the National Juneteenth Observance Foundation of Nevada, invites the community to commemorate Juneteenth through a vibrant celebration of culture, history, and art.
Henderson’s annual Juneteenth Festival at Water Street Plaza will take place on Thursday, June 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event is a dynamic evening filled with music, culture, and community spirit, and will feature performances by nationally acclaimed artists, including:
- Syndee Winters – Best known as “Nala” in The Lion King and for roles in Hamilton, Motown the Musical, and more. She’ll bring her one-woman concert, Lessons from a Lady, a tribute to Lena Horne, along with her new R&B project, Butterfly Black.
- Johnny Lee Chapman III – A celebrated spoken word artist and storyteller whose powerful poetry has captivated audiences across the country.
- Street Corner Renaissance – A fan-favorite a cappella group featured on NBC’s The Sing Off and PBS’s DooWop Generations, known for their timeless harmonies and performances with musical legends.
