ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – Fish and Game has received numerous reports in recent weeks of a brown bear sow with two yearling cubs breaking into chicken coops on the Anchorage Hillside. Ring camera video shows the large bear violently shaking a coop while the chickens inside shriek, before the homeowner yells and scares the three bears away.
Lynden Grothe says the same bears visited her Hillside home two weeks ago and killed six chickens. She said bears were scared away but returned later that night before fleeing again. She believes the bears have become a danger to the neighborhood and thinks something should be done.
“I imagine what they need to do is just come shoot that bear,” she said…
