June 20, 2025 – Kern County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on June 11, 2025, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputy assigned to the Boron Substation initiated a traffic enforcement stop on a vehicle for several vehicle code violations. The enforcement stop occurred near the intersection of Del Oro Street and Tamarisk Avenue in the community of Desert Lake. The sole occupant of the vehicle, 52-year-old ROBERT SHAW from Boron, was found to be in possession of controlled substance paraphernalia.
A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted leading to the discovery of 1.03 lbs. of meth, 1.5 lbs. of marijuana, 1.57 oz. of heroin, a large sum currency, a digital scale, a loaded handgun, a loaded short-barreled rifle with no serial number, and a semi-automatic .22 caliber rifle. SHAW was arrested and booked at the Mojave Jail for multiple felonies.
