Plans for downtown Greenville housing development approved

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) — The site plan for a mixed-use development at the intersection of North Main Street and North Academy Street was approved by Greenville’s Design Review Board on Thursday night.

The project plan, city leaders said, include three buildings with 650 apartments and on-site parking. Once completed, the development would sit across the street from McPherson Park, where the Greenville Municipal Court used to be.

Officials said that building heights, transitions and materials will be finalized at a later meeting.

The Johnston Design Group (JDG) shared renderings of the development, but the city said they are preliminary and subject to change…
