When Will Those Confusing Lines Be Fixed?

Many of you have seen the striped line confusion at the base of the Matanzas Pass Bridge. As it is laid out now, it appears the right turn lane, as you approach the bridge, has the right-of-way to get on the bridge. Why?

If you survive the squeeze speed battle, at the now regular traffic signal at Prescott/Buttonwood, and you’re in the left lane to get onto the bridge you now have to be a little careful right at the base of the bridge. There are striped white lines that appear to give the right lane of traffic the right-of-way to veer onto the bridge. Once the state’s work is done there will be two lanes getting onto the bridge. There are also still road work barrels that have been sitting at the base of the bridge without much work being done in that area for weeks.

We reached out to the Florida Department of Transportation to see what the timeframe is to get the street striping taken care of so there is a clear understanding who really has the right-of-way approaching the bridge…
