Ok, I’ve got a challenge for you: Watch this old Newsreel from the Oakland Roadster Show, and see how many of the cars you can positively identify. The clip opens on two young ladies checking out a pair of custom convertibles, and one car seems to have a full bar with chilled martinis in the back seat! We then see the Alfa Romeo BAT 7 (Berlina Aerodinamica Tecnica), a wild concept by the Italians that lived in California for the majority of its life. The next car is a custom coupe complete with a fish tank for ‘Tad & Pole’ (I have not figured out the gimmick of this one yet). We then see girls sink down in a very lavishly-upholstered convertible, covered front to back with rolls & pleats along with button tuck seats. Switching to hot rods, there is a single-seater…..
