A South Toledo man pleaded not guilty Friday morning to aggravated murder and other charges arising from a fatal shooting in April.
Diontae Davis, 31, of the 2800 block of Airport Highway, is accused of fatally shooting Jovontai Highsmith, 32, late on the evening of April 7. Highsmith, of the unit block of East Oakland Street, was found dead inside a car in the 900 block of Peck Street with fatal gunshot wounds to the head, neck, and chest.
In Lucas County Common Pleas Court, Judge Joe McNamara added $100,000 to Davis’ $1 million bond that had previously been set in Toledo Municipal Court for an initial murder charge.
