ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A health care advocacy nonprofit said it’s still deeply concerned about day-to-day operations at Mission Health, despite a recent report that the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) found no deficiencies at the hospital.
In a news release on June 20, Reclaim Healthcare WNC said it is following up with NC DHHS to understand how the 35 incidents the state investigated—many of which the nonprofit reported to the state—did not rise to the level of censure.
Surveyors with the state conducted investigations at Mission Hospital on May 13–16 to “evaluate the Hospital’s compliance with the Federal Medicare Conditions of Participation,” according to a letter sent from the state’s Nurse Consultant Lee Gillis, RN, to Mission Health CEO Greg Lowe.
