Bicyclist identified in fatal Roberts Lane crash as 34-year-old Bakersfield woman

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the bicyclist struck and killed on Roberts Lane as 34-year-old Carissa Marie Sileo of Bakersfield.

The California Highway Patrol said on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at around 11:38 p.m., officers were called to Roberts Lane, just east of Plymouth Avenue for a crash between a vehicle and a bicycle.

CHP said a preliminary investigation found that a 2013 Chevrolet Impala, driven by a 21-year-old man, was traveling westbound on Roberts Lane, in the number two lane, east of Plymouth Avenue, at a stated speed of 35 to 40 mph.

According to CHP, a woman, identified as Sileo, was riding a bicycle directly into the path of the Chevrolet within the number two lane, outside of a marked crosswalk…
