CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The first day of summer doubled as a citywide celebration in Charlottesville; the Charlottesville Parks and Recreation Department offered free access to pools, recreation centers, and outdoor events as part of “Play All Day.”
The general programs manager says she wants events like this to encourage people to stay active all year round.
“I just love seeing everybody get outside, take advantage of the nice weather, get outside and play, maybe discover a new sport,” Charlottesville Parks and Recreation General Programs Manager Courtney Ambrose said. “Something that they want to get involved in after today is over.”…
