New Fresno County ordinance to crack down on illegal dog breeding

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) — Fresno County is cracking down on illegal dog breeding operations in unincorporated areas of the county with a new ordinance that aims to reduce overpopulation, shelter overcrowding and illegal breeding.

Fresno County Supervisors Garry Bredefeld and Brian Pacheco are introducing an ordinance that will hold unlicensed dog breeders accountable.

“We’re not messing around. Some of these dog breeders have been talked to by animal control. They’ve been very uncooperative. And now we’re going to have this in place to deal with that,” Bredefeld said…
