Suspect in Upstate armed robbery dies after arrest

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office reported that a suspect in an armed robbery died while in custody.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, deputies were called out to the Quick N’ Fast convenience store on White Horse Road regarding an armed robbery. The sheriff’s office said that a suspect had entered the store and demanded money while armed with a knife.

Upon arrival, authorities said they located a man matching the description of the suspect. A handler and his K-9 arrested the suspect, and the K-9 bit the suspect. The suspect was then transported to Greenville Memorial, where he later died…
