Greenwood District license plates benefitting Tulsa Juneteenth expanded to include motorcycles

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Historic Greenwood District license plate benefitting the Tulsa Juneteenth festival, has been expanded to include motorcycle tags.

State Sen. Regina Goodwin, D-Tulsa, and former Rep. Jason Lowe, D-Oklahoma City were the principal authors of legislation that expanded availability of the license plate providing additional funding for Tulsa Juneteenth, Inc.

“Juneteenth marked the delayed end of slavery in Texas in 1865, more than two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation,” the announcement read. “Celebrations began the following year in Texas and gradually spread throughout the country.”…
