ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) – It’s official, Alaska’s largest city officially climbed into the 70s Thursday, making this the latest first 70-degree day since 2011. While we’ll make another run at 70 today, cooler weather looks to take hold for a good portion of the state as we usher in next week. Today and through the weekend, the big concern will continue to be more thunderstorms and potential wildfire increase.
SOUTHCENTRAL:
The official temperature in Anchorage topped out at 72 degrees yesterday, making this the warmest day Anchorage has seen since August 5 of last year. While we’ll make one more run at 70 today, the best chance for 70s will be east of Midtown, the Mat-Su Valley and into the Copper River Basin. The rest of Southcentral will likely stay in the 60s, outside of Kodiak, where highs in the 50s will be possible…
