NORTH CAROLINA, USA — A new rockslide and flash flooding near the Tennessee state line have once again shut down I-40, creating major detours, backups and growing frustration on the North Carolina side of the mountains.
The closure affects the same stretch of highway damaged by Hurricane Helene less than a year ago. For many in Buncombe County, it feels like déjà vu.
