Man dies after being pinned under car in downtown L.A., driver in custody

A driver is now in custody after a man was fatally struck by a vehicle in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the area of Main and 7th streets around 1:50 a.m., a department spokesperson said.

The victim, only listed as an adult man, was described as “either laying on the sidewalk or sleeping” when he was struck, the spokesperson added.

He was pinned under the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
