KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The family of the woman killed in a shooting at the Chiefs’ Super Bowl rally in February 2024 has filed suit against the city, gun manufacturers and sellers, and several others.
“Each defendant played a part in this tragedy,” the lawsuit says, calling the shooting that killed Lisa Lopez-Galvan and injured 22 others preventable. “So each must be held accountable.”
“It’s horrible what happened to Lisa,” said attorney Michael Ketchmark. His firm, Ketchmark & McCreight, is representing the Galvan family. “It was supposed to be a day of celebration, and it turned into a tragedy. When her family contacted us, we started looking into this, and we found out this is so preventable. The purpose behind this lawsuit is her husband and kids want to make sure this never happens again.”…
