Wisconsin Heat Alert: Triple-Digit Heat Indices and Wind Gusts Up to 35 MPH Through Monday

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – A dangerous heat wave is gripping Wisconsin this weekend, with heat indices soaring past 100 degrees and wind gusts reaching up to 35 mph. The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning and Heat Advisory for much of the state from Saturday afternoon through Monday evening.

According to the NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan office, high dew points in the low to mid 70s combined with mid-90s air temperatures will push heat indices to 105°F in areas like La Crosse, Madison, and Milwaukee. Winds from the southwest are expected to intensify discomfort, especially during peak afternoon hours.

Cities including Eau Claire, Wausau, and Janesville are seeing max heat indices between 100° and 104° today and Sunday. Outdoor workers, athletes, and vulnerable residents—especially seniors and children—are advised to limit exposure, stay hydrated, and avoid strenuous activity between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day…
