‘No Kings’ protest draws 2,500 to Main Beach, next demonstration set for July 17

Laguna Beach residents and visitors participated in a peaceful protest rally as part of the nationwide “No Kings” movement at Main Beach on Saturday, June 14.

The event was one of over 2,000 coordinated demonstrations across the country and co-organized by the Laguna Beach Democratic Club, Indivisible OC 47, and the grassroots group 50501.

“We estimated the crowd to be approximately 2,500 people at its max capacity,” Laguna Beach Police Lt. Jesse Schmidt said.

The crowd included families with young children, older adults, and even dogs carrying handmade protest signs, lining Coast Highway with banners, chants, and calls for democratic accountability.
