DCHS offers tips on how to keep your pet safe during excessive heat

MADISON, Wis. — With dangerous heat expected through the weekend, the Dane County Humane Society offered tips on how pet parents can keep their animals safe.

“Even healthy pets can suffer from dehydration and heat stroke if exposed to extremely high temperatures and humidity,” said Lisa Bernard, DCHS’s development & communications supervisor. “Make sure your pets stay safe by keeping them in a cool location, offering them plenty of water, and NEVER leaving your pet alone inside a vehicle.”
