Juneteenth celebration in Akron commemorates the end of slavery in 1865

The Akron Urban League, The Freedom BLOC and the Akron NAACP partnered on the Stronger Together Juneteenth celebration Saturday at the Urban League’s headquarters on Vernon Odom Boulevard in Sherbondy Hill.

The event featured food trucks, live performances, local vendors, kids’ activities and health and wellness resources for attendees.
