Daughters of Mary Magdalene and Savannah Building Futures host Juneteenth event

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – From under a Savannah canopy, the community is honoring Juneteenth in a big way.

“The most important thing is us coming together, Black people coming together, to congregate, to laugh and be rejoiceful and just be happy to be with each other,” said Marilyn Jackson, a Chairperson for Daughters of Mary Magdelene.

Attendee Carolyn Scott had this to say about the event, “We all have to come together and we all have to recognize each other and what we’re all about.”…
