BREVARD, N.C. (WLOS) — Today community members in Brevard gathered to celebrate Juneteenth.
Juneteenth is recognized as the day commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Celebrations for the holiday have been happening for over 150 years although the day was not officially recognized as a holiday until 2021.
