Road Warrior: Ramp closings scheduled for I-475; gas price war erupts around new Sheetz store

The Ohio Department of Transportation doesn’t expect hot weather to get in the way of final paving on I-475/U.S. 23 this week, but evening thunderstorms could be another matter.

The freeway’s northbound ramps to and from U.S. 24 will be closed for paving work Monday and Tuesday nights, starting at 9 p.m. and ending by 6 a.m. the next day, ODOT said.

Traffic already on the freeway will be detoured to the Salisbury/Dussel interchange, then return south to U.S. 24. The simplest option for traffic on U.S. 24 probably is to get on southbound I-475 and reverse direction at State Rt. 25 in Perrysburg, although using the Salisbury/Dussel ramps instead avoids the work area entirely for those who can navigate a route there…
