Triathletes battle through heat advisory, headwinds
ROCKFORD — Jana Richtrova came here from The Woodlands, Texas, expecting to run a 70.3-mile triathlon in cool Midwestern temperatures.
“I apparently brought the Texas weather with me,” said Richtrova, one of 2,700 triathletes who battled heat, humidity and long stretches of headwind in the inaugural Ironman 70.3 Rockford.
