Smithfield Foods has announced plans to relocate approximately 115 corporate employees from regional offices in Illinois and Missouri to its home base in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia by the end of 2026. The move comes as part of a broader company initiative to enhance operational efficiency and accelerate its transformation into a value-added packaged meat company.
The consolidation will impact various corporate functions, including finance, human resources, information technology, procurement, and other support roles. While the exact number of relocations and new hires is still being determined, Smithfield confirmed that both regional offices will be closed by the end of next year.
