(WJET/WFXP)– Thousands of people around western Erie County on Monday evening lost power as the area continues to deal with the first heat wave of the year.
According to Penelec, 5,827 people were without power as of 11:33 p.m. Monday, most of which in the area around Fairview and Girard Townships.
Fairview Township had 1,534 outages, while Girard had 2,315 and Lake City had 1,189 and Platea had 156. Other surrounding townships, including Springfield (158 outages) and Conneaut (239 outages), were less affected…
