Indiana JAG program facing funding cuts

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — State funding is being cut for a program aimed at helping at-risk youth graduate from high school.

Educators who have worked with the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program told I-Team 8 that decisions by the state legislature ultimately paved the way for the program’s funding to be cut.

Sam Harris used to be in JAG in 2010. “It showed me that I could actually be more than what I thought I could be prior,” he said. Without JAG, Harris doesn’t know where he’d be, “I don’t know because I wasn’t even sure if I was going to graduate at the time.”…
