The city of Battle Creek, in coordination with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, will conduct weed treatment in Goguac Lake on Thursday, June 26.The treatment targets nuisance aquatic weeds and algae to help maintain a safe and healthy lake environment. Signs will be posted in the treated areas, asking neighbors and visitors to stay out of the water for 24 hours after the application to allow the treatment to effectively reach the targeted weed species. While the treatment is tested and approved for safe use in the lake, anyone who enters the water during the posted restriction period is advised to shower afterward as a precaution.
