NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — As Nashville faces dangerously high temperatures, city officials are ramping up efforts to support the unhoused community with critical resources.
On Sunday, June 22, the Office of Homeless Services distributed hundreds of life-saving items between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., including:
- 361 bottles of water
- 81 bus passes
- 77 bottles of bug repellent
- 36 bottles of sunscreen
- 84 cooling towels
The effort was part of the city’s coordinated extreme heat response, conducted in partnership with the Office of Emergency Management.
