Four Syracuse firefighters injured during two house fires Monday morning

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Four Syracuse firefighters have been treated for heat-related injuries following two separate house fires less than an hour apart on Monday morning. The Syracuse Fire Department said one of the fires was on the city’s South Side and the other on the North Side.

The first fire the Syracuse Fire Department was called to was on the 400 block of East Seneca Turnpike at 10:06 a.m.

The Syracuse Fire Department said that crews from Station 8 were returning from another call and arrived at the house in 2 minutes. The crews reported finding a single-story home with smoke coming from the back of the house and the roof.

Firefighters worked quickly to find and put out the fire that was determined to be a kitchen fire, while other firefighters searched the home for anyone trapped inside…
