Green Bay changes summer meal plan for Monday due to extreme heat

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – Green Bay schools are encouraging children not to eat their free summer meals at the parks on Monday due to the dangerous heat.

At 10 a.m. Monday, the temperature in Green Bay was recorded at 86º Fahrenheit with a feels-like temperature in the 90s. The First Alert Weather forecast calls for an ambient temperature in the low 90s that will feel like 100º.

Children are asked to pick up their meal at the following locations and take their food someplace safer:

  • Farlin Park
  • Fisk Park
  • Fritsch Park
  • Green Bay Botanical Garden
  • Green Isle Park
  • Joannes Park

  • Marquette Park
  • Mather Heights Park
  • VT Pride Park
  • Wilder Park
