Lancaster County woman tricked into sending $30,000 to scammer

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A 62-year-old woman is out $30,000 after she was tricked into sending money to a scammer.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said the victim received an unsolicited email from who she believed was PayPal on June 18. She said she called the number that was provided and was informed that she needed to pay $30,000.

LSO said the victim was talked into taking the money out of her savings account, going to two cryptocurrency ATMs and sending the money to the scammers…
